The radio station created by music lovers for lovers of music
Fine Music 102.5 (formerly known as 2MBS and soon to be known as Fine Music Sydney) is Australia’s first stereo FM radio station. The station was officially opened on 1 February 1975 and we have now been on air for over 42 years.
Fine Music 102.5 plays an important role in encouraging emerging musicians and music lovers in their ambitions to be professional musicians or broadcasters. Fine Music 102.5 is an integral part of Sydney’s cultural landscape promoting and encouraging an active live classical and jazz music scene in our community and supporting music education. Fine Music Emerging Artist programs include: Artist In Residence, Young Composer Award, Young Virtuoso Award, Kruger Scholarship, Ken Weatherly Scholarship and our Emerging Artist Workshops and Showcase Productions.
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Fine Music 102.5 broadcasts a wide range of fine music. Renowned composers, orchestras, ensembles and soloists are featured in programs of classical and jazz music. Australia’s most talented composers and performers are also featured regularly in our broadcasts.
To complement our FM, DAB+, Listen Now and Radio On Demand options, we publish Fine Music, a monthly magazine featuring interviews, previews, opinions, news, arts calendar and CD reviews. Fine Music 102.5 also has a professional recording studio for lease, which is used by some of Australia’s leading musicians for CD recordings.
